#ThisBookshop: Waterstones Liverpool One

Tuesday 30 September 2014

My favourite shop in Liverpool by far is Waterstones (and indeed the best Waterstones as they recently won Store of the Year 2014 and rightly so). For a book lover it really is the most magical place where you can easily spend hours perusing the shelves or sitting in the comfiest chairs (if you can get one!) reading a book. With a cafe and various events and signings each month it's really hard to leave once you are inside. (Oh, and it smells divine).

It's also the only shop where I would willingly ask staff where something is or for a recommendation as you know they love their job and are more than happy to discuss books with their customers. I'm more than happy to choose to shop here and pay more when you know the staff are helpful (also the Click & Collect where you pay the online price is great!)

There's really nothing bad I can say about this store, it's amazing and a must visit for anyone visiting Liverpool.

I can't write about Waterstones in Liverpool without mentioning the Bold Street store which sadly is no more. I walked out of Central Station one day to be confronted by windows covered with paper and a sign saying the store had closed down and I actually had a lump in my throat. I've got so many memories of books bought in the Bold Street store that it was devastating to see it stood empty.
